Paper Whimsy Quote Challenge.....

These are some pieces I recently made for the PW quote challenge...I was a little behind so I finally got the last two of these done this week.....I'm finally caught up and have just printed out this weeks challenge....and I already have ideas perking away.....so please take a look and let me know what you think of these three....and come back and check and see what I come up with next...This piece reminded me how much I enjoy working with orange...to me one of the least used colors.....and it is such a happy color...so full of energy!!!

I particulary enjoy this beautiful image from PW it is such a peaceful image....and so suitable for Mother's day....in fact I used this image in the card that I made for my own mom this year!

Isn't she a sweet child...almost ethereal....and I just love how the background paper swirls and curls as if it the very sound of the music is causing it to ebb and swell

Sanctuary....

This is a piece I made to honor....to pay respect due to a Godly mother....a rightous woman....a rare individual who is brave enough to stand up for what she believes in and raise her family in a household of love and devotion with God her first priority...a necessary ingredient in raising a healthy and whole and Godly family. Do you know such a woman??? is it your mother???? your grandmother???? your sister??? your daughter???? or your best friend???? Are you living your life as an example to others? I will be listing this piece on Etsy....so if you'd like to gift it to such a person....please check back in the next day or two....I need to get a better picture....thank you for taking the time to check out this piece of art.

Sea Stars and Moonbeams....A Mermaids Tale...

“FAR out in the wide sea,—where the water is blue as the loveliest cornflower, and clear as the purest crystal, where it is so deep that very, very many church-towers must be heaped one upon another, in order to reach from the lowest depth to the surface above,—dwell the Mer-people.” ~ Hans Christian Anderson

I recently was inspired to host a 1 for 1 swap over at the Paper Whimsy Forum (we had a wonderful response and signups are closed)....and here is the shadowbox I made for the project...I hope you like it.....

For Barb B 50th birthday....I had her 33rd...

a few artist friends decided to make a tag book for one of our nearest and dearest of friends Barb B in honor of her 50th birthday...we made tags....
artists from all over the country and from out of the country as well!!!......mailed them to the wonderful and amazing Tamara C who had set up a blog specifically for this project. Then Tamara received each tag...scanned and posted each and every one to the blog...then she arranged with Barb's family for the kids and grandkiddies to participate. When it was all complete...Tam packaged it all up beautifully in a vintage cradle and shipped it to the family. Barb's wonderful family took her out to Red Robin and suprised her with it...a story in itself!!! But it was definitely a surprise... Oh I wish I could have been a fly on the wall in the restaurant....(video of the event is in process coming soon to You-Tube near you...)....she was blown away and I can't think of a nicer, sweeter, kinder, more generous and deserving friend to have this be done for!!!! We LOVE you Barb!!!!">

My Fairie Slippers have arrived.....

from Rella....these gorgeous slippeers came to me in the most beautiful shippping box covered in fairies and glitter and love

....and when I opened it...there was another beautiful blue box covered in flowers and tied up with a beautiful ribbon with gorgeous flowers....it took me all weekend to open it layer upon layer and savor the beauty as it unfolded...and then I slid off the ribbon and inside amongst flower petals, lovely scented tissue there it was...the beautiful slippers

made by Fairie-Rella (my friends call me Rella) herself...for the mischiveous fairy Callie....the Fairy Princess of Versailles....all aglitter with beads and ribbons and crystals...and of course love...in the most delightful pinks, and blues and yellow-golds....
nestled in a lovely woodland nest of a shadowbox....that is sooo beautifully complete to the most minute of detail! Thank you so much Rella I love it and will tend it with love and care.
